Size Guide

Everything below is the garment measured flat, not your body. Chest is the full width from armpit seam to armpit seam; length runs from the highest shoulder point down to the hem. Fastest way to get it right: take a jersey that fits you well, measure it the same way, and match the numbers.

Diagram: measure straight across the chest from armpit seam to armpit seam, and from the top of the shoulder down to the hem
ChestLay the jersey flat and measure straight across, from one armpit seam to the other. That full width is the number in the chart - so a chart reading of 44 in means the shirt measures 44 in across, not a 44 in body.
LengthFrom the highest point of the shoulder straight down to the bottom hem, with the jersey laid flat and smoothed out.

Authentic - Numbered Sizing

36 - 64

Some Authentic styles are sold by number instead of letter. The number is the chest width in inches - so a size 48 measures 48 in across. Use the letter column to translate your usual size.

Youth Jerseys

S - XL

Cut in the same shape as the adult shirts, just scaled down. Age is a guide only - chest measurement is the reliable one.

01
Cut for comfort

Basketball jerseys are meant to hang loose. If you want a regular, closer fit, order one size below your usual.

02
Between sizes?

Go up. The extra room is how the cut is designed to be worn, and it layers over a hoodie in winter without pulling.

03
Compare, don't guess

Match the numbers to a shirt you already own rather than to your body. Printed names and numbers on the back do not change the fit.

Numbers are taken flat and can vary by roughly 1 in / 2 cm between styles, and Youth overlaps Preschool at age 7 - in that case Youth S is the slightly longer of the two. Still unsure? Contact us with your height, usual size and the jersey you are looking at, and we will tell you which one to take.

Description

Retro Houston Rockets Red, Hakeem Olajuwon Throwback on the back — cut for wearing, not framing.

There is a version of this jersey for the collector and a version for the wearer. This is the second kind. From the front it is the Houston Rockets design; from behind it is one name and one number. Lettering and numbers are heat-sealed in place, layered just above the surface of the knit.

The fabric is recycled polyester with a wicking finish — drier than cotton and quicker to dry. V-neck, taped interior, no scratchy label — the details are small and they add up over an evening. It photographs well, travels well, and survives being a favourite — the three tests that matter. It sits nicely over a long-sleeve tee when the weather turns, and works on its own when it does not. It packs down small, which makes it an easy one to take to an away game.

Why it earns the rotation spot

  • Made for the long haulA season of regular wear is the design brief, not an accident.
  • Detail you notice up closeLayered lettering and clean edges reward a second look.
  • Not a display pieceMade to be worn through the season rather than kept in its wrapper.
  • Pairs with older shirtsThe palette follows the Houston Rockets set, so it sits alongside earlier jerseys.

Things worth knowing

Is it suitable as a gift?

It is one of the easier gift calls in fan gear — a team, a name, a size, and it is done.

What is the shirt like after a full day of wear?

The knit holds its shape and the neckline keeps its form — it is built for long evenings.

Is it heavy?

It is a mid-weight knit — light enough to live in, substantial enough to hang properly.
